Jewish "Shiva"!

While I was watching some serials, I came across something called as "Keeping Shivah" for grieving family.
If someone expires, the friends and relatives of the grieving family visit them, cook food for them or bring them food and keep Shivah.It is a Jewish custom to support the loved ones to overcome the grief.

The fact which surprised me is in Hinduism, Lord Shiva is the destructor of bad things and ego..God of destruction.. Is this Jewish shiva somewhere connected to this!

After all the world is so small and all of us evolve from one supreme power!

The Attitude

Mahakavi Bharathiyar's poems still remain a huge inspiration in many of our lives right from child hood..

This particular phrase, I somehow felt is very apt for the current genereation..

He says that "He wont turn senile and die of bad allegations, after running in search of food everyday,  speaking petty gossips and doing things that hurt others,  like how many funny people do on earth" ..

This is the attitude each one of us should imbibe from this great poet.  Most often, in social networking sites , this is what happens ...In his days where the gossips happened in Verandahs, happen these days in social sites..
